Streszczenie
Zakaźne zapalenie wsierdzia i mięśnia sercowego jest chorobą rozwijającą się w wyniku zakażenia w obrębie zastawek, komór i przedsionków, a także śródbłonka aorty i tętnicy płucnej. Przyczyną najczęściej są: infekcje bakteryjne, rzadko grzybicze, chlamydia, riketsje czy mykoplazmy. Dominujące objawy są niecharakterystyczne, jest to przede wszystkim wysoka gorączka lub przedłużające się stany podgorączkowe. W przypadku przyżyciowego potwierdzenia zapalenia wsierdzia lub mięśnia sercowego rokowanie jest ostrożne. Zależy ono przede wszystkim od reakcji na zastosowane leczenie, ale także od zaawansowania zmian wtórnych w mięśniu sercowym

Abstract
Infectious endocarditis and myocarditis is a disease that develops as a result of infection of the valves, ventricles and atria as well as the endothelium of the aorta and pulmonary artery. The infection is caused by bacteria (including less common bacteria, such as chlamydia, ricktettsia, mycoplasma) and by fungi. The main symptoms are not pathognomonic and include high fever or prolonged low-grade fever, The prognosis is cautious and depends on the response to the treatment as well as on the severity of secondary changes in the heart muscle
