Streszczenie
Wiele psów boi się głośnych dźwięków, takich jak wybuchy petard czy grzmoty. Z roku na rok zwiększa się liczba pacjentów trafiających z tym problemem do lekarzy weterynarii i behawiorystów zwierzęcych. W żadnym wypadku nie należy lekceważyć psich lęków, ponieważ mogą się one przerodzić w fobie, które w przyszłości utrudnią im i ich opiekunom normalne życie. W terapii zaburzeń lękowych mogą pomóc zmiany w środowisku zwierzęcia oraz użycie technik modyfikacji behawioralnej wsparte – w razie potrzeby – podaniem leków.

Abstract
Many dogs are afraid of loud sounds like those produced by fireworks or thunders. The number of patients coming with this problem to vets and behaviourists increases every year. On no account should we ignore dogs’ anxiety as in the future they can make life difficult for them and their owners as well. Changing the pet’s environment, using behaviour modification techniques, supported if necessary by medications, can help in the therapy of dogs anxiety disorders.
