Streszczenie
Premedykacja jest jednym z najważniejszych etapów przygotowania pacjenta do znieczulenia ogólnego, odpowiednie uspokojenie warunkuje dobry i stabilny sen podstawowy. Umiejętnie dobrane leki premedykacyjne powinny zapewniać uspokojenie, miorelaksację oraz efekt przeciwbólowy (preemptive analgesia, analgezja z wyprzedzeniem) z jednoczesnym zachowaniem stabilności układu sercowo-naczyniowego. Ponadto dobra premedykacja ułatwia dalsze postępowanie anestetyczne oraz zmniejsza zapotrzebowanie na leki do indukcji i podtrzymania znieczulenia.

Abstract
Premedication is one of the most important stages of preparing the patient for general anaesthesia. The appropriate sedation assures a good and stable sleep. The suitable selection of premedication drugs should ensure sedation, anxiolysis, miorelaxation and provide preemptive analgesia accompanied by the cardiovascular system stability. Intraoperative cardiovascular stability must also be taken into account. A proper premedication will facilitate other procedures. Premedication will allow to reduce the dose of other anaesthetic agents required for the induction and maintenance of anaesthesia.
