Streszczenie
Wścieklizna rzekoma (choroba Aujeszky’ego) wywoływana jest przez herpeswirus świń typu 1 (SuHV-1). Świnie stanowią bezpośrednie, jak i pośrednie źródło zakażenia dla psów oraz kotów. W niniejszym artykule przeglądowym przedstawiono informacje dotyczące patogenezy, przebiegu klinicznego oraz rozpoznawania wścieklizny rzekomej u psów. Choroba manifestuje się głównie zaburzeniami neurologicznymi. Charakterystycznym objawem jest także świąd, przy czym nie jest on stwierdzany we wszystkich przypadkach choroby. Śmiertelność wśród zakażonych psów i kotów wynosi 100%. Główną metodą zapobiegania chorobie jest ograniczenie kontaktu psów ze świniami oraz produktami wieprzowymi.

Abstract
Pseudorabies (Aujeszky’s disease) is the disease caused by suis herpesvirus-1 (SuHV-1). Pigs are either directly or indirectly the source of infection with Herpes virus suis in dogs and cats. In this review were presented the information about pathogenesis, clinical picture and diagnosis of pseudorabies in dogs. The disease is mainly characterised by nervous disorders. Pruritus is a characteristic clinical sign but is not present in every case. Mortality in dogs and cats is a hundred per cent. Prevention is possible by avoiding exposure to pigs or fresh pig products.
