Streszczenie
Badanie płynu mózgowo-rdzeniowego (PMR) jest jednym z ważnych kroków diagnostycznych w rozpoznawaniu chorób ośrodkowego układu nerwowego (OUN). Pobranie płynu odbywa się z punkcji podpotylicznej lub lędźwiowej. W badaniu uwzględniana jest przede wszystkim patologiczna zawartość komórek oraz stężenie białka całkowitego. Płyn może być również wykorzystany do badań serologicznych w kierunku chorób zakaźnych OUN. Badanie PMR pozwala przede wszystkim na potwierdzenie występowania choroby tła zapalnego i zakaźnego OUN.

Abstract
Cerebro-spinal fluid (CSF) analysis is one of the most important procedures in diagnosing the diseases that affect the central nervous system (CNS). The collection is performed through the occipital or lumbal punction The examination of the CSF allows one to assess mainly changes in the number of cells and total protein concentratio. The fluid can also be serologically examined for the presence of infectious agents, The CSF examination enables to diagnose mainly inflammatory and infectious CNS diseases.
