Streszczenie
Kardiomiopatia przerostowa (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, HCM) jest chorobą występującą przede wszystkim u kotów. Najbardziej predysponowane są koty europejskie krótkowłose, a także koty rasy maine coon, ragdoll, brytyjski krótkowłosy, perski, norweski leśny, syberyjski i inne. U niektórych ras (MCO, RAG) udowodnione zostało genetyczne podłoże choroby, choć nie zidentyfikowano jeszcze wszystkich genów odpowiedzialnych za rozwój zmian w kardiomiocytach (gen MYBPC3, różne regiony genowe).

Abstract
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is most commonly diagnosed in cats, with breed predilections including European Shorthair cats, Maine Coon, Ragdoll, British Shorthair, Persian, Norwegian Forest Cat, Siberian, and others. The genetic etiology of the disease was confirmed in some breeds (MCO, RAG), although not all genes responsible for the development of cardiomiocyte changes were identified.
