Streszczenie
Nadczynność tarczycy jest najczęściej rozpoznawaną endokrynopatią kotów. Spowodowana jest najczęściej gruczolakiem lub gruczolakowatym rozrostem komórek narządu, jedynie w niewielkim odsetku przypadków (2-3%) wywoływana jest rozrostem o charakterze złośliwym. Choć rozpoznanie schorzenia z reguły nie stanowi problemu dla klinicysty, to dobór odpowiedniego sposobu leczenia i monitorowanie pacjenta mogą sprawiać większe problemy.

Abstract
Hyperthyroidism is the most often diagnosed endocrinopathy in cats, commonly caused by adenoma or adenomatous hyperplasia of the thyroid gland. Only 2-3% of cases are caused by malignant tumors. Although the diagnosis of hyperthyroidism is not very challenging for an experienced clinician, a proper management and monitoring of a patient can be more problematic.
