Streszczenie
Zapalenie mózgu i opon mózgowo-rdzeniowych nieznanego tła jest częstą chorobą zapalną ośrodkowego układu nerwowego (OUN) u psów, charakteryzującą się zmiennym i nieprzewidywalnym przebiegiem. Celem rozpoznania jest wykluczenie tła zakaźnego i dzięki temu wdrożenie często agresywnej terapii immunosupresyjnej. Szczegółowe badanie neurologiczne, badanie rezonansem magnetycznym oraz punkcja płynu mózgowo-rdzeniowego są obecnie złotym standardem rozpoznania tej jednostki, a jej dokładny charakter określony może być wyłącznie na podstawie badania histopatologicznego tkanki mózgowej.

Abstract
Meningoencephalomyelitis, of unknown origin, in dogs (MUO) is a common canine inflammatory CNS disease with a variable and unpredictable outcome. The aim of the diagnosis is to exclude infectious agents and implement commonly intense immunosuppressive therapy. A detailed neurological examination, magnetic resonance imaging and cerebrospinal fluid puncture are now a gold standard that enables accurate intravital diagnosis, while a definitive diagnosis is obtained basing on a histopathological examination of the collected brain tissue.
