Streszczenie
W artykule przedstawiono opis boreliozy u zwierząt towarzyszących, głównie psów: historię, etiologię, patogenezę, rezerwuar, objawy choroby, diagnostykę i leczenie. Omówiono trudności w diagnostyce i zaproponowano dwuetapowy algorytm diagnostyczny w oparciu o standardy obowiązujące w medycynie człowieka. Opisane zostały sposoby zapobiegania boreliozie oraz innym chorobom odkleszczowym.

Abstract
The paper describes pet animals borreliosis in dogs and describes its history, etiology, pathogenesis, reservoirs, disease symptoms, diagnosis and treatment. The article discusses diagnosis difficulties and proposes a two-steps diagnostic algorithm based on human medicine diagnostics standards. Prevention of borreliosis and other tick-borne diseases is also described.
