Streszczenie
Babeszjoza rozwija się w następstwie ukąszeń kleszczy lub transfuzji zarażonej pierwotniakami krwi. W niniejszym artykule przedstawiamy potencjalnie nową, nie do końca rozpoznaną drogę szerzenia się inwazji, jaką jest zakażenie śródmaciczne. Możliwość wystąpienia wrodzonej babeszjozy u zwierząt jest niezwykle istotna z punktu widzenia monitorowania choroby. Aby kontrolowanie choroby było skuteczne, konieczne jest wykrywanie osobników z przewlekłymi inwazjami.

Abstract
Babesiosis is usually acquired from a tick bite or through a blood transfusion. The paper describes new, not well-recognized intrauterine Babesia spp. transmission in animals. The possibility of congenital piroplasmosis in animals can exert a significant influence on the disease monitoring,and therefore the detection of chronically infected animals is important.
