Streszczenie
Ciała obce umiejscawiające się w przełyku są najczęstszą przyczyną utrudnionego połykania i zwracania pokarmu (tzw. wymiotów rzekomych). Wśród zwierząt towarzyszących człowiekowi ciała obce w przełyku częściej spotykane są u psów niż u kotów. Rozpoznawanie obecności ciał obcych w przełyku powinno opierać się na informacjach uzyskanych z wywiadu, wyniku badania klinicznego zwierzęcia oraz wynikach badań dodatkowych, takich jak badanie radiologiczne przeglądowe i/lub kontrastowe oraz ezofagoskopia. Najlepszym sposobem leczenia ciał obcych w przełyku jest endoskopowe lub chirurgiczne ich usunięcie.

Abstract
Esophageal foreign bodies, more often diagnosed in dogs than in cats, are the most common triggers of dysphagia and regurgitation. Their diagnosis is based on anamnesis, clinical examination and the results of additional tests, such as radiological contrast and non-contrast examination and esophagoscopy. The treatment involves endoscopic and surgical removal of the foreign body.
