Streszczenie
Przetrwały przewód tętniczy (PDA) jest jedną z najczęściej występujących wad wrodzonych serca. Przewód tętniczy jest fizjologicznie czynnym w życiu płodowym naczyniem łączącym pień płucny z aortą zstępującą, który po urodzeniu ulega zamknięciu. Jeżeli pozostaje on drożny, mówi się o przetrwałym przewodzie tętniczym – pozasercowym zespoleniu naczyniowym – które prowadzi do przeciążenia objętościowego krążenia płucnego oraz lewego przedsionka i komory, ostatecznie prowadząc do lewokomorowej niewydolności serca. Artykuł ten skupia się na diagnostyce przetrwałego przewodu tętniczego, od badania klinicznego po badania obrazowe.

Abstract
Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) is one of the most common congenital heart defects. Ductus arteriosus (DA) is a vessel connecting the pulmonary trunk with the descending aorta, which should close immediately after birth. If it remains unobstructed, it is referred to as a patent ductus arteriosus – an extracardiac shunt, that leads to pulmonary overcirculation – volume overload of the left atrium and left ventricle, eventually leading to left-sided congestive heart failure. This article focuses on the diagnosis of the persistent arterial duct, from physical examination to more advanced imaging studies.
