Streszczenie
Najczęstszą nabytą chorobą serca rozwijającą się u psów ras małych jest zwyrodnienie śluzowate zastawki mitralnej (ang. myxomatous mitral valve disease, MMVD). W jej przebiegu na skutek postępującej niedomykalności zastawki dwudzielnej może dojść do rozwoju lewokomorowej niewydolności serca. W artykule przedstawiono zalecenia dotyczące diagnostyki i leczenia stadium C MMVD u psów w oparciu o najnowsze zalecenia ACVIM dotyczące tej fazy choroby.

Abstract
The most common acquired heart disease in small breed dogs is myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD). As a result of progressive mitral regurgitation, left ventricular heart failure may develop. The article presents recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of stage C MMVD in dogs based on the latest ACVIM recommendations.
