Badanie cytologiczne moczu psów i kotów jest cenną uzupełniającą metodą diagnostyczną wspierającą pracę lekarzy weterynarii. W wielu przypadkach umożliwia postawienie ostatecznego rozpoznania lub przynajmniej daje wskazówki odnośnie dalszego postępowania. W artykule autorzy przedstawili aspekty techniczne przygotowania moczu do badania cytologicznego oraz omówili obraz fizjologiczny i najważniejsze patologie, w których cytologia moczu może dać istotne klinicznie informacje.

Abstract
Urine cytology in dogs and cats is a valuable complementary method useful in the diagnostic process. In many cases the procedure facilitates decision on further therapeutic measures or allows the final diagnosis. The paper presents technical aspects of urine preparation for cytology, normal results of the test and main pathologies in which the procedure may help to determine the diagnosis.
