Dysplazja zastawki dwudzielnej jest rzadką wrodzoną wadą serca, która obejmuje szereg zmian aparatu zastawkowego prowadzących do niedomykalności i/lub jej zwężenia. W postaci łagodnej może nie wywoływać objawów klinicznych, jednak w postaci ciężkiej prowadzi do przedwczesnego zgonu psa lub kota. Istnieją predyspozycje do wady, która występuje u kotów oraz niektórych ras psów. Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia opis przypadku dysplazji zastawki dwudzielnej u psa rasy labrador retriever.

Abstract
Mitral valve dysplasia is an uncommon congenital heart defect that encompasses several lesions of the mitral valve apparatus, leading to its insufficiency and/or stenosis. In mild cases clinical signs may be absent, but in severe cases the disease may lead to the demise of a dog or a cat. Defect predispositions trigger the disease in cats and some dog breeds. The article describes a clinical case of mitral valve dysplasia in a Labrador retriever dog.
