Streszczenie
Dziedziczna arytmia komorowa występuje u młodych owczarków niemieckich pomiędzy 4. a 24. miesiącem życia. Chore psy nie wykazują zwykle żadnych niepokojących objawów, a najczęściej opisywaną kliniczną manifestacją choroby jest nagła śmierć sercowa. Zakres zaburzeń rytmu serca stwierdzanych w badaniu EKG waha się od pojedynczych dodatkowych pobudzeń komorowych aż do częstoskurczu komorowego. Po ukończeniu drugiego roku życia objawy te zwykle ustępują samoistnie.

Abstract
Inherited ventricular arrhythmia and sudden death affects young German Shepherds between 4 to 24 months of age. Affected dogs often die suddenly without any previous clinical symptoms. The heart rhythm disturbances found during the ECG examination range from single ventricular contractions to tachycardia. In dogs over 24 months of age the symptoms resolve spontaneously.
