Streszczenie
Kardiomiopatia restrykcyjna (restrictive cardiomyopathy, RCM) może być zdefiniowana jako nabyta choroba miokardium u kotów. Dokładniej rzecz ujmując, pod pojęciem RCM rozumiemy całą serię zmian patologicznych w mięśniu sercowym, które powodują wyraźne zmniejszenie funkcji rozkurczowych mięśniówki lewej komory bez znaczącego upośledzenia jej funkcji skurczowych. Określenie „restrykcja” odnosi się przede wszystkim do zmian funkcjonalnych, a nie anatomiczno-morfologicznych w mięśniu sercowym.

Abstract
Restrictive cardiomyopathy (RCM) can be defined as acquired myocardium disease in felines. The RCM definition embraces a number of pathologic changes in myocardium resulting in its decreased diastolic function of the left ventricular myocardium without reducing its systolic function. The term „restriction” applies to the myocardium functional changes, and not to its anatomical or morphological changes.
