Streszczenie
Filariozy psów to występujące w wielu miejscach na świecie choroby inwazyjne, przenoszone przez krwiopijne stawonogi, których patogenność jest ściśle uzależniona od gatunku wywołujących je nicieni. Ze względu na wzrost mobilności zwierząt i stałe rozprzestrzenianie się filarioz o potencjale zoonotycznym wzrasta znaczenie rutynowej diagnostyki psów w kierunku mikrofilarioz. Najczęściej występującymi filariozami psów w Europie są: Dirofilaria immitis, D. repens, Acanthocheilonema dracunculoides i A. reconditum, przy czym D. immitis jest najbardziej patogennym gatunkiem, którego inwazje mogą być śmiertelne dla psów.

Abstract
Canine filarial parasites are worldwide distributed nematodes transmitted by arthropods with variable, depending on the species, pathogenicity. Due to the increasing tendency to travel with animals, the spread of filariae with zoonotic potential is also growing, thus routine filarial diagnosis in dogs might become important. Dirofilaria immitis, D. repens, Acanthocheilonema dracunculoides and A. reconditum are the most common canine filarial nematodes in Europe. D. immitis is the most pathogenic species inducing potentially fatal infection in dogs.
