Streszczenie
Produkcja leków i biopreparatów dla zwierząt była w przeważającej mierze dodatkowym zakresem działania firm farmaceutycznych. Za początek wytwarzania leków dla zwierząt na ziemiach polskich możemy przyjąć drugą połowę XIX w., wtedy to bowiem pojawiły się pierwsze informacje w prasie o oferowanych biopreparatach pochodzących z Zakładu Higieny UJ w Krakowie (Zakłady prof. o. Bujwida).

Abstract
The production of medicines and biopreparations for animals was predominantly an ancillary activity of pharmaceutical companies.
The second half of the 19th century can be regarded as the beginning of the production of medicines for animals on Polish soil, as it was then that the first information appeared in the press about the biopreparations offered by the Hygiene Institute of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków (Professor Bujwid’s Plant).
