Streszczenie
W okresie pierwszych miesięcy życia cieląt dominującym problemem zdrowotnym są choroby o przebiegu biegunkowym. Wbrew utartym stereotypom ich etiologią nie są infekcje bakteryjne i wirusowe. W tym czasie największym zagrożeniem wydają się być inwazje pierwotniaków. W pierwszych tygodniach życia cieląt przeważa kryptosporydioza, w kolejnych rośnie zagrożenie giardiozą. Artykuł przedstawia najważniejsze aspekty tych inwazji.

Abstract
During the first months of calves life, diarrheas are the main health problem. Contrary to common predictions of breeders and veterinarians, their etiology is not bacterial or viral. Nowadays, the main problem are protozoal infections. In the first weeks of calves’ life, cryptosporidiosis is the main etiological factor, involving the risk of giardiasis in the following weeks. This article presents the most important aspects of those invasions.
