Streszczenie
Kardiomiopatia rozstrzeniowa (DCM) jest chorobą mięśnia sercowego charakteryzującą się upośledzeniem funkcji skurczowej. Do genetycznie uwarunkowanej kardiomiopatii rozstrzeniowej szczególnie predysponowane są rasy doberman oraz bokser. W ciągu ostatnich kilkudziesięciu miesięcy coraz więcej dowodów wskazuje, że diety bezzbożowe mogą odgrywać istotną rolę w rozwoju DCM u psów. Artykuł opisuje aktualną wiedzę z zakresu kardiomiopatii rozstrzeniowej zależnej od diety.

Abstract
Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is a myocardial disease characterized by systolic dysfunction. Boxers and Doberman pinschers are particularly predisposed to genetic form of the disease. Over the past few months, more evidence suggests that grain-free diets can play an important role in the development of DCM in dogs. The article describes the current knowledge about nutritionally-dependent dilated cardiomyopathy.
