Streszczenie
Kardiomiopatie to najczęstsza choroba serca u kotów. Mogą przebiegać bez objawów, z niewielkim ich nasileniem bądź z bardzo zaawansowanymi objawami klinicznymi. Często objawy są niespecyficzne, takie jak: posmutnienie, spadek bądź brak apetytu lub oznaki wskazujące na chorobę serca, takie jak duszność, zwłaszcza po wysiłku, a w zaawansowanej postaci – również w spoczynku. We wszystkich typach kardiomiopatii u kotów może dochodzić do tworzenia skrzepliny w sercu, co może prowadzić do choroby zatorowo-zakrzepowej, objawiającej się najczęściej niedowładem bądź porażeniem kończyn miednicznych. Badaniem z wyboru w rozpoznawaniu chorób serca u kotów jest echokardiografia.

Abstract
Cardiomyopathies are the most common heart diseases in cats. They may be asymptomatic or the clinical picture includes either mild or severe symptoms. Most commonly the symptoms are non-specific (apathy, lethargy, decrease or loss of appetite) or indicating heart disease: dyspnea after effort, and, even when resting, at the advanced stage of the disease. All types of cardiomyopathies may lead to forming the thrombus in the heart, thus resulting in thromboembolic disease with the common symptoms of pelvic limbs paresis or paralysis. The diagnostic method of choice in the case of cardiomyopathy in cats is echocardiography.
