Streszczenie
Kardiotoksyczność jest znanym efektem ubocznym wielu leków cytotoksycznych, takich jak: antybiotyki antracyklinowe, 5-fluorouracyl, cyklofosfamid, ifosfamid i mitomycyna C. Na skutek toksycznego działania leków dochodzi najczęściej do niedokrwienia mięśnia sercowego, zapalenia mięśnia sercowego i osierdzia oraz rozwinięcia się kardiomiopatii. Wtórnie dochodzi do ostrej lub przewlekłej niewydolności serca, która znacząco pogarsza rokowanie podstawowej choroby nowotworowej, a także mogącej prowadzić do nagłego zgonu sercowego. W przypadku pojawienia się objawów niewydolności serca konieczne jest wprowadzenie objawowego leczenia kardiologicznego.

Abstract
Cardiotoxicity is a known side effect of many cytotoxic drugs such as anthracycline antibiotics, 5-fluorouracil, cyclophosphamide, ifosfamide and mitomycin C. Cytotoxic drugs may cause myocardial ischemia, myocarditis and pericarditis and may result in the development of cardiomyopathy. As a result acute or chronic heart failure can occur, what significantly worsens the original prognosis of oncological treatment and what can lead to sudden cardiac death. If the symptoms of heart failure appear, symptomatic treatment is necessary.
