Streszczenie
W niniejszym artykule opisano przypadek kota, samca, z gromadzeniem się płynu w worku osierdziowym. Zaburzeniu temu towarzyszyło nagłe pojawienie się objawów klinicznych (duszność, apatia, osłabienie). Badaniem obrazowym stwierdzono obecność płynu w worku osierdziowym. Stan ogólny kota, jak i wyniki badań laboratoryjnych pogorszyły się znacznie w ciągu kolejnych dni obserwacji. Analiza płynu pobranego z worka osierdziowego pozwoliła stwierdzić, że jest to zmodyfikowany przesięk pozytywny w teście Rivalta. Techniką PCR w materiale tym potwierdzono obecność materiału genetycznego FCoV. W oparciu o uzyskane wyniki postawiono ostateczne rozpoznanie choroby, tj. FIP.

Summary
This case report describes the disease progression in a male cat with pericardial effusion. Clinical signs (dyspnea, lethargy, and weakness) started very acutely. Diagnostic imaging revealed pericardial effusion. General condition and laboratory parameters dramatically worsened in a few next days. Effusion analysis showed a Rivalta-positive, modified transudate. The presence of genetic material of FCoV in pericardial effusion was confirmed by a PCR test. Based on this the final diagnosis of FIP infection was established.
