Streszczenie
Leptospiroza jest zoonozą, której czynnikiem etiologicznym są bakterie z rodzaju Leptospira. Gryzonie i zwierzęta gospodarskie stanowią rezerwuar omawianych bakterii. Koty mogą ulegać zakażeniu tymi patogenami, aczkolwiek kliniczna leptospiroza notowana jest stosunkowo rzadko u przedstawicieli tego gatunku. Zakażone osobniki mogą siać bakterie z moczem, przez co odgrywają istotną rolę w epidemiologii omawianej jednostki chorobowej.

Abstract
Leptospirosis is a zoonotic disease caused by bacteria of the genus Leptospira. Rodents and farm animals are reservoirs of the bacteria. Catsmay be infected with Leptospira sp., but clinical leptospirosis in this species is rare. Infected cats can shed Leptospira with urine, and it is possible that these animals can play an important role in the epidemiology of the disease.
