Streszczenie
Miokimia i neuromiotonia to rzadko występująca choroba nerwów obwodowych psów i kotów, dotycząca głównie jack russell terrierów. Jej występowanie jest związane z wrodzoną lub nabytą patologią bramkowanych napięciem kanałów potasowych w obrębie ruchowych włókien nerwowych, ale dokładna etiopatogeneza schorzenia nie jest do końca poznana. W artykule omówiono dotychczasowe badania dotyczące rozpoznawania, leczenia oraz podstaw fizjologicznych miokimii i neuromiotonii.

Abstract
Myokymia and neuromyotonia are the rare diseases of the peripheral nervous system in dogs and cats mainly affecting Jack Russell Terriers. It is connected with the hereditary or acquired pathology of voltage-gated potassium channels within motor peripheral nerves, but its precise etiopathogenesis remains unexplained. The article describes studies on diagnosis, treatment and physiological aspects of myokymia and neuromyotonia.
