Medycyna personalizowana, czy tak zwane terapie celowane molekularnie, stanowią istotną i obiecująca formę współczesnej onkologii. Według aktualnej definicji, medycyna personalizowana stawia sobie za cel zwiększenie skuteczności działań terapeutycznych poprzez dostosowanie protokołów leczniczych do genotypu i fenotypu indywidualnego pacjenta. Jest to możliwe dzięki wprowadzeniu nowych technik biologii molekularnej, które pozwoliły nie tylko na poznanie różnic w biologii komórek nowotworowych, ale także pomogły zdefiniować konkretne cele terapeutyczne.

Abstract
Personalized medicine or so-called targeted therapy is an important topic in contemporary oncology. According to the current definition, personalized medicine aims to increase the effectiveness of therapeutic measures by adjusting treatment protocols to the genotype and phenotype of an individual patient. This is possible due to the introduction of new molecular biology techniques that allowed us not only to learn about differences in the biology of cancer cells, but also helped to define specific therapeutic goals.
