Streszczenie
Pentatrichomonas hominis jest rzęsistkiem występujący w przewodzie pokarmowym i układzie moczowym u różnych gatunków zwierząt. Ze względu na trudności w rutynowym wykrywaniu i różnicowaniu za pomocą mikroskopii świetlnej jest dość rzadko stwierdzany. Najskuteczniejsze są metody PCR niezależnie od jego formy rozwojowej. Po raz pierwszy P. hominis w Polsce stwierdzono w hodowlach psów na terenie północno-wschodniej Polski.

Abstract
Pentatrichomonas hominis is an intestinal and urinary tract protozoa of different species. As the identification of the parasite through a routine microscopic examination is difficult, the species is rarely diagnosed. PCR is the most efficient method of diagnosis regardless the parasite development stadium. P. hominis was identified for the first time in Poland in canine kennel breeds in north-eastern Poland.
