Streszczenie
Babeszjoza jest chorobą powodowaną przez hemotropowe pierwotniaki z rodzaju Babesia, przebiegającą z gorączką i niedokrwistością hemolityczną. Lekiem najczęściej stosowanym w jej terapii jest dipropionian imidokarbu. Niestety, niekiedy preparat ten może być przyczyną wystąpienia ciężkich objawów ubocznych. W niniejszym artykule zaprezentowano przegląd leków stosowanych w leczeniu babeszjozy psów oraz przedstawiono opis dwóch przypadków zatruć imidokarbem u psów.

Abstract
Babesiosis is caused by a haemotropic protozoal parasite of the genus Babesia. The disease can cause fever and haemolytic anemia. Imidocarb dipropionate is the most widely used drug in the therapy of canine babesiosis, but in some case chemotherapy with this agent may cause severe side effects. The paper offers a review of different drugs used in the therapy of canine babesiosis, as well as presentation of two cases of imdocarb toxicosis in dogs.
