Streszczenie
Przetrwały przewód tętniczy (PDA) to jedna z najczęściej diagnozowanych wad wrodzonych serca u psów. Jej istota polega na niezamknięciu się drożnego w okresie płodowym naczynia łączącego tętnicę płucną z aortą. Patologiczny przepływ powoduje powstawanie charakterystycznego szmeru maszynowego oraz najczęściej szybki rozwój objawów lewokomorowej niewydolności serca. Artykuł opisuje rzadki przypadek psa, u którego PDA zdiagnozowano dopiero w wieku 9 lat.

Abstract
Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) is one of the most frequently diagnosed congenital heart defects in dogs. Failure of the ductus to close after birth results in a permanent connection between pulmonary artery and aorta. Pathological flow causes a distinct machine-like murmur and most often a rapid development of symptoms of left-sided heart failure. The article describes a rare case of a dog in which PDA was diagnosed as late as at the age of 9 years.
