Streszczenie
Dwuwymiarowa ultrasonografia ma bardzo szerokie zastosowanie w położnictwie i wciąż pozostaje najważniejszą metodą obrazowania w rozpoznawaniu oraz monitorowaniu ciąży. Jest badaniem szybkim, łatwym do przeprowadzenia i co najważniejsze − całkowicie nieinwazyjnym. Umożliwia: dokładne zobrazowanie pęcherzyka ciążowego, zarodka i płodu oraz wykonanie pomiarów biometrycznych, dzięki którym oprócz oceny żywotności płodu, można precyzyjnie określić wiek ciąży. W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono szczegółowe badanie ultrasonograficzne ciężarnych suk i kotek. W pierwszej części opisano monitorowanie ciąży prawidłowej.

Abstract
Two-dimensional ultrasound is very widely used in obstetrics and still remains the most important imaging method in diagnosing and monitoring pregnancy. It is fast, easy to perform and, most importantly, completely non-invasive. It enables accurate imaging of the gestational sac, embryo and fetus as well as biometric measurements, owing to which, apart from fetal viability assessment, the age of pregnancy can be precisely determined. This article offers an account of a detailed ultrasound examination of pregnant bitches and cats. The first part describes monitoring of normal pregnancy.
