Streszczenie
Kabergolina jest znanym i powszechnie stosowanym agonistą dopaminy, zarejestrowanym do hamowania laktacji oraz laktomanii u psów i kotów. Jednak substancja ta znalazła szereg dodatkowych, „pozaulotkowych” zastosowań, m.in. do przerywania ciąży w II i III trymestrze, terapii farmakologicznej ropomacicza, sterowania cyklem płciowym, leczenia anoestrus, paliatywnej terapii gruczolaków przysadki produkujących prolaktynę, leczenia przysadkowej nadczynności kory nadnerczy oraz do zmniejszenia masy nowotworów gruczołu mlekowego przed ewentualnym planowanym zabiegiem.

Abstract
Cabergoline is a well-known and widely used dopamine agonist, approved for inhibiting lactation and treating false pregnancy in dogs and cats. However the drug has a number of additional, other than approved, applications, e.g. in terminating pregnancy during second and third trimester, pharmacological therapy of pyometra, reproductive cycle management, anoestrus treatment, paliative therapy of prolactine producing pituitary gland adenoma, therapy of pituitary hyperadrenocorticism or decreasing mammary gland tumor mass before preparing a surgical treatment.
