Streszczenie
W artykule został opisany podział szczepień psów i kotów na: obowiązkowe, zalecane, dodatkowe, niezalecane; w oparciu o wytyczne grupy eksperckiej World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) oraz przepisy krajowe. Omówiono: podstawowe zasady wykonywania szczepień oraz pierwsze cykle immunizacji, a także częstotliwość rewakcynacji dorosłych zwierząt towarzyszących. Wspomniane zostały możliwe działania niepożądane po zastosowaniu preparatów do immunizacji psów i kotów, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem mięsaków poiniekcyjnych.

Abstract
The paper presents the vaccinations regime of dogs and cats including obligatory, recommended and additional, not recommended ones, based on the guidelines of the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) expert group as well as national regulations. Discussed here are: the basic principles of vaccination, first immunization program and the frequency of revaccination of adult companion animals. Possible side effects of preparations for dogs and cats immunization, with particular emphasis on injection sarcomas, are also mentioned.
