Streszczenie
Nieustannie zwiększający się dostęp do obrazowania techniką tomografii komputerowej (TK) wraz z rozwojem samej technologii pozwala na coraz szersze jej stosowanie w diagnostyce chorób nowotworowych psów i kotów. TK jest badaniem z wyboru do oceny obecności pierwotnych nowotworów płuc, o wyższej czułości niż badanie RTG. Pozwala także na relatywnie dokładną ocenę obecności oraz rozległości zmian nowotworowych we wszystkich innych obszarach ciała, w krótkim czasie, co jest bardzo istotne przy ocenie możliwości leczenia operacyjnego. TK odgrywa także ważną rolę w planowaniu radioterapii. Badania kontrastowe wielofazowe pozwalają na szczegółową identyfikację unaczynienia zmian.
