Ubytek w przegrodzie międzyprzedsionkowej to wrodzona wada w budowie przegrody międzyprzedsionkowej. Dość rzadko może wystąpić w przebiegu nabytej choroby serca. Jeżeli wada jest istotna hemodynamicznie, leczenie opiera się najczęściej na zmniejszeniu obciążenia następczego serca i zapobieganiu rozwojowi nadciśnienia płucnego. Pacjenci dotknięci wadą zazwyczaj wymagają regularnych kontroli echokardiograficznych.

Abstract
Atrioventricular septal defect is a congenital defect in a structure of the atrioventricular septum. Rarely it can occur in acquired heart disease. If the defect is hemodynamically significant, treatment usually consists in decreasing heart afterload and managing the development of pulmonary hypertension. Patients affected with the defect usually demand regular echocardiographic check-ups.
