Streszczenie
Choroby wątroby, naczyń krwionośnych związanych z wątrobą oraz dróg żółciowych są częstym wskazaniem do przeprowadzenia badania ultrasonograficznego jamy brzusznej. Objawy kliniczne choroby wątroby często są niewidoczne aż do momentu, kiedy rozwinie się nieodwracalna niewydolność tego narządu. Dzięki badaniu USG można wykryć zmiany patologiczne wątroby, zanim dojdzie do zaburzenia innych układów organizmu. Ultrasonografia pozwala nie tylko na określenie wielkości, położenia, obecności zmian miąższu wątroby, ale również na precyzyjne przeprowadzenie przezskórnej biopsji wykrytych zmian.

Abstract
The diseases of the liver, hepatic blood vessels and the biliary system require performing abdominal ultrasound examination. Liver diseases are often asymptomatic until the development of an irreversible organ failure. The ultrasonographic examination allows for the diagnosis of hepatic pathologic lesions before the development of other systemic disorders. The ultrasound not only enables one to determine the presence, location and size of parenchymal changes in the liver, but also allows for a precise execution of the fine needle aspiration of detected lesions.
