Streszczenie
Kardioonkologia jest nową dziedziną nauki zajmującą się chorobami układu krążenia u pacjentów poddanych chemioterapii. Oprócz powszechnie znanej kardiotoksyczności antracyklin inne grupy leków cytostatycznych również mogą negatywnie wpływać na układ sercowo-naczyniowy, w wielu różnych mechanizmach. Poznanie działań niepożądanych poszczególnych substancji pozwala na zoptymalizowanie schematu terapeutycznego, jak i odpowiedni monitoring pacjenta, włączając do codziennej praktyki onkologicznej opiekę kardiologiczną.

Abstract
Cardiooncology is a new field of science focusing on cardiovascular diseases in patients undergoing chemotherapy. Apart from the commonly known anthracycline cardiotoxicity, other groups of cytostatic drugs may also have an adverse effects on the cardiovascular system, due to diverse mechanisms. Understanding the adverse events related to individual substances helps to optimize the therapeutic scheme as well as appropriate monitoring of the patient, including cardiovascular care in daily oncological practice.
