Streszczenie
Akupunktura jest bezpieczną, niefarmakologiczną metodą terapii, którą większość zwierząt toleruje bardzo dobrze. Wykorzystuje ona stymulację włókien A-delta oraz ich wpływ na organizm. Mechanizm działania akupunktury sprowadza się między innymi do lokalnego rozszerzenia naczyń krwionośnych, co poprawia perfuzję tkanek i narządów. Efekt ten wydatnie przyspiesza procesy anaboliczne w tkance, wpływając radykalnie na procesy, takie jak np. ziarninowanie ran. Może wywołać przejściowe skutki niepożądane, takie jak mikrourazy czy incydentalnie wywołać ból w miejscu wkłucia igieł.

Abstract
Acupuncture is a safe, non-pharmacological method of therapy that most animals tolerate very well. It uses stimulation of A-delta fibers and their effect on the body. The acupuncture mechanism of action includes, among others, local vasodilatation, which improves tissue and organ perfusion. This effect significantly accelerates anabolic processes in the tissue, radically affecting processes such as e.g. granulation of wounds. It may cause temporary side effects such as microtraumas and incidentally cause pain at the needle insertion site.
