Zakrzepica zatorowa u kotów (feline arterial thromboembolism – ATE) jest powszechną chorobą i powikłaniem chorób serca. Często może prowadzić do eutanazji. Klasyczny „zakrzep jeździec” jest usytuowany w końcowym odcinku aorty. Już podczas wstępnego badania klinicznego można postawić rozpoznanie. U kotów z niedokrwieniem wielu kończyn rokowanie jest złe, a dużo lepsze, jeśli tylko jedna kończyna jest objęta niedokrwieniem lub zachowana jest jej funkcja motoryczna.
