Streszczenie
Zaparcie to stan, w którym kot nie oddaje kału dłużej niż 1 dzień. Klinicznie dzielimy je na zaparcia proste oraz przewlekłe. Ich przyczyną mogą być czynniki: behawioralno-środowiskowe, dietetyczne lub chorobowe. Typowe objawy to: parcie na kał, bolesne próby wypróżniania, postawa odciążająca oraz brak łaknienia. W zaawansowanym stopniu pojawiają się także objawy intoksykacji. Diagnozę stawiamy na podstawie: dokładnego wywiadu, badania palpacyjnego, rektalnego, RTG, USG oraz badania laboratoryjnego krwi.

Abstract
Constipation is a condition in which a cat does not defecate for more than 1 day. Clinically, it is divided into simple and chronic constipation. Among etiological factors the most important are improper diet, behavioral-environmental problems and other diseases. Typical symptoms include tenesmus, painful attempts to defecate, relieving posture and lack of appetite. In advanced cases intoxication symptoms may also be present. Diagnosis should be based on a detailed anamnesis, clinical and rectal examination, x-ray, ultrasonography and blood tests.
