Streszczenie
Bakteryjne ropne zapalenia skóry są jednymi z najpowszechniej rozpoznawanych chorób skóry u psów. Zdecydowana większość zakażeń bakteryjnych jest dermatozą wikłającą pierwotne przyczyny choroby, takie jak alergie, choroby pasożytnicze, endokrynopatie czy zaburzenia rogowacenia. W większości przypadków ropnych zapaleń skóry niezbędna jest antybiotykoterapia ogólnoustrojowa. Kluczowe w postępowaniu jest rozpoznanie postaci piodermii, rozpoznanie i leczenie choroby pierwotnej, wybór odpowiedniego antybiotyku i protokołu leczenia, upewnienie się, czy lek jest podawany w odpowiedniej dawce i w czasie, przynosząc efekt terapeutyczny.

Abstract
Pyodermas are one of the most frequently diagnosed skin diseases in dogs. The majority of skin bacterial infections are secondary to the primary condition such as allergy, ectoparasitic diseases, endocrinopathies and keratinization defects. Most cases of pyoderma need to be treated with systemic antibiotic therapy. The management of pyoderma includes diagnosing and treatment of an underlying disease, selecting therapeutic protocol and proper antibiotics, making sure whether the medication is administered at a correct dose and a time period in order to achieve the patient’s recovery.
