Streszczenie
Psy sportowe należą do grupy psów pracujących, które wykonują różnie intensywną pracę w określonych warunkach środowiskowych i przez odpowiednio długi czas. Rodzaj wykonywanej pracy jest uwarunkowany głównie rodzajem włókien mięśniowych określonego typu (genetyka) i wspomagany ukierunkowanym żywieniem. Dieta psów pracujących intensywnie, lecz krótko, poza właściwym bilansem makroskładników powinna charakteryzować się odpowiednio dużą strawnością i obecnością tzw. dodatków funkcjonalnych, które mogą wpływać na zwiększenie osiągów psów przy minimalizacji efektów zmęczenia oraz maksymalizować proces regeneracji organizmu w okresie wypoczynku.

Abstract
Sporting dogs as a part of working dogs group, perform work of different intensity in specified environmental conditions and for a sufficiently long period of time. The kind of work mainly depends on the type of muscle fibers (genetics) and supported by special nutrition. The diet of dogs working intensively but for a short period of time, should not only include well-balanced macronutrients and be highly digestive but must be also supplemented with functional additives, which may improve sporting results of dogs as well as decrease their fatigue and enhance body regeneration at rest.
