Dr Rovesti ukończył studia na Uniwersytecie w Parmie w 1982 roku i od początku swojej kariery pracuje w klinice weterynaryjnej „M. E. Miller” w Cavriago we Włoszech. Prowadził wizytacje na uniwersytetach w Zurychu, Kolorado, Florydzie, Karolinie Północnej oraz w Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists w Houston (od 1993 do 2000 r.). Jest członkiem ECVS od 1997 r. (opiekun dr Aldo Vezzoni). W latach 2009-2010 r. był konsultantem ortopedycznym Uniwersytetu Wiedeńskiego. Jest dyrektorem kursów AO i wielu kursów ortopedycznych, a także prezesem Międzynarodowego Stowarzyszenia Ortopedów Weterynaryjnych (IVOA) od 2020 roku. Jest autorem około 60 publikacji, w tym 26 indeksowanych w PubMed, trzech rozdziałów podręcznika AO (2005), rozdziału książki „Complications in Small Animal Surgery” (2016) i 3 rozdziałów „Veterinary Clinics of North America” (2012 i 2019). Wygłosił około 400 wykładów na spotkaniach krajowych i międzynarodowych. Jest posiadaczem 3 patentów na instrumenty ortopedyczne i implanty. Główne zainteresowania: śródoperacyjne zastosowania trakcji chirurgicznej, artroskopia, chirurgia stawu kolanowego oraz hybrydowa stabilizacja zewnętrzna.
