R. Hugo Schindelka był nauczycielem w Wiedeńskiej Szkole Weterynaryjnej, ustanowił dermatologię weterynaryjną jako dyscyplinę naukową. Opublikował książkę „Hautkrankheiten bei Haustieren Handbuch der Tierärztlichen Chirurgie und Geburtshilfe” w 1903 roku.
