Schorzenia z objawami biegunek u cieląt w pierwszych tygodniach życia stanowią istotny problem zdrowotny i ekonomiczny. Ich następstwa to: obserwowana obniżona odporność, immunosupresja, wzrost zachorowalności i śmiertelności, zmniejszone wykorzystanie paszy oraz obniżone przyrosty wagowe. Ponad połowa diagnozowanych przypadków wykazuje polietiologiczny charakter choroby przy jednoczesnym udziale czynników zakaźnych oraz środowiskowych.

Summary
The symptoms of diarrhea in calves in the first weeks of life are the significant health and economic problem. Their consequence is observed decreased of immunological response, immunosuppression, morbidity and mortality, decreased feed utilization and reduced weight gain. More than half of the diagnosed cases show the polyethiologic nature of the disease with the simultaneous involvement of infectious and environmental factors.
