Streszczenie
Bakterie z rodzaju Clostridium są stosunkowo dużymi, beztlenowymi, Gram-dodatnimi laseczkami, które występują albo jako formy wegetatywne, albo przetrwalniki. Ich naturalne środowiska to gleba oraz przewód pokarmowy zwierząt i ludzi. Celem niniejszej pracy jest charakterystyka zakaźnego martwicowego zapalenia jelit prosiąt wywoływanego przez Clostridium perfringens typu C, zapalenia jelit u prosiąt wywoływanego przez C. perfringens typu A, zapalenia jelit prosiąt i warchlaków wywołanego przez C. difficile oraz nagłej śmierci tuczników i loch wywołanej przez C. novyi.

Abstract
Clostridia are relatively large, anaerobic, spore-forming, rod-shaped, Gram-positive organisms. They are found either as living cells (vegetative forms) or as dormant spores. Their natural habitats are soils and intestinal tracts of animals, including people. The purpose of this review is the description of Clostridium perfringens type C necrotizing enteritis in newborn piglets, C. perfringens type A enteritis in suckling piglets, C. difficile associated enteritis of suckling piglets and growing pigs and sudden death in swine called also C. novyi infection.
