Streszczenie
Do gronkowców, które sprawiają problemy zdrowotne w produkcji świń, zaliczamy przede wszystkim Staphylococcus hyicus wywołujący u prosiąt wysiękowe zapalenie skóry (ang. exudative epidermitis), potocznie określane jako smoleń lub wyprysk sączący. Innym gatunkiem, który może być zaangażowany w wywoływanie różnego rodzaju zaburzeń, jest Staphylococcus aureus. W terapii wysiękowego zapalenia skóry u świń powszechnie stosowane są środki przeciwdrobnoustrojowe. Jednak liczne doniesienia wskazują, że S. hyicus może być odporny na wiele rodzajów antybiotyków.

Abstract
Among staphylococci that cause health problems in pig production, the most important is Staphylococcus hyicus, which causes exudative epidermitis in piglets, also known as greasy pig disease. Another species that may be involved in causing various diseases in pigs is Staphylococcus aureus. Antimicrobials are commonly used in the treatment of exudative skin inflammation in pigs. However, numerous reports indicate that S. hyicus may be resistant to many types of antibiotics.
