Streszczenie
Gronkowce koagulazo-ujemne (CNS) szeroko rozpowszechnione w środowisku naturalnym, kolonizujące skórę i błony śluzowe zwierząt oraz ludzi, uważane przez dziesiątki lat za niechorobotwórcze, stały się obecnie dominującym czynnikiem etiologicznym mastitis krów w wielu krajach. CNS uważane są za minor pathogens, ponieważ w większości przypadków powodują podkliniczną formę mastitis. Jednakże mogą również wywoływać mastitis clinica, z reguły z objawami słabo nasilonymi, ale związanymi ze wzrostem liczby komórek somatycznych (LKS).

Abstract
For many decades, coagulase-negative staphylococci (CNS), widely spread in the natural environment and colonizing the skin and mucosa of animals and humans, have been considered non-pathogenic. At present, they are the predominant aetiological factor of bovine mastitis in many countries. In the majority of cases, CNS cause subclinical mastitis. However, they can also cause mastitis clinica, characterised by mild symptoms but associated with increased somatic cell count (SCC).
