Rozmaz krwi jest badaniem dodatkowym, pozwalającym na ocenę morfologii erytrocytów, leukocytów i płytek krwi, jak również wykrycie pasożytów krwi, komórek młodocianych lub atypowych. U koni najważniejsze wskazania do wykonania rozmazu obejmują podejrzenie występowania pasożytów krwi oraz odchylenia w badaniu morfologicznym krwi. Wiarygodna ocena rozmazu jest uzależniona od jakości próbki, a interpretacja wymaga uwzględnienia stanu klinicznego oraz wyników innych badań.

Abstract
Blood smear is an additional laboratory test that allows morphologic evaluation of erythrocytes, leukocytes and platelets as well as identification of blood parasites, immature or atypical cells. In horses, the main recommendations to perform a blood smear are: suspicion of blood parasites presence and abnormalities in complete blood count. The reliable evaluation of a blood smear depends on the quality of the specimen. In the interpretation of the result, it is necessary to consider the clinical status of the animal as well as the results of other tests.
