Streszczenie
Płeć płodu u koni można określić za pomocą badania ultrasonograficznego w dwóch okienkach czasowych: około 7., a następnie między 17. a 30. tygodniem ciąży. Wczesne techniki określania płci płodu u koni, przeprowadzane między 59. a 68. dniem ciąży, mają na celu określenie położenia wyrostka płciowego. Szersze okienko diagnostyczne występuje pomiędzy 120. a 210. dniem ciąży, diagnostyka opiera się na kilku parametrach, a łatwość identyfikacji w pełni rozwiniętych pierwotnych narządów płciowych płodu sprawia, że badanie to jest preferowaną przez wielu lekarzy techniką rozpoznania płci płodu.

Abstract
The foetus sex in horses might be recognised using ultrasonographic examination in two time lapses: about the 7th and then 17th to 30th week of preganancy. The early techniques of the sex recognition in horses, used between the 59th and 68th day of pregnancy, aim at the description of the genital tubercle. A broader diagnostic window, available between the 120th and 210th day of pregnancy, is based on the few parameters and the ease of the identification of the fully developed primary sex organs of the foetus, which make it a preferable method of sex recognition.
